Boston Arts Academy Senior Luncheon

DSC_0209On Wednesday, March 20, Berklee City Music hosted the Boston Arts Academy Class of 2013 for a Senior Luncheon at Berklee College of Music’s David Friend Recital Hall. As one of the founding institutions of Boston Arts Academy, Berklee College holds this annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of the senior class, and acknowledge the bond between these two institutions of arts education.

The 2013 Senior Luncheon featured inspirational talks from the leadership of Berklee College, Berklee City Music, and Boston Arts Academy. Roger H. Brown, president of Berklee College of Music, spoke to students about his experiences in international travel and relief work, entrepreneurialism, and music. Students engaged with the college president in an inspiring and entertaining question and answer session.

Brittany Butler, an alumna of Boston Arts Academy, Berklee College student, and City Music Continuing Scholar, delivered a performance of her singer-songwriter styled original music, closing the event with her interpretation of the hit by Green Day “Time of Your LIfe”. Butler-Tubbs’s performance was met with cheers from her former classmates. Students in the audience waved their hands and embraced, appreciating the time they’ve spent together as a class, and preparing to meet the future as individuals.
