Harbor founder and visionary Tony Duke will be honored at this year’s Salute to Achievement on Wednesday, May 15. Emmy Award-winning anchor and reporter David Ushery from NBC 4 New York will host the show, which will feature a theatrical production conceived by the renowned faculty of the Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts.
This year’s performance, Estampas on 6: Postcards from El Barrio, is a tribute to Harlem! Take a ride on the 6 train, from the historic Duke Ellington statue to the 103rd Street station. Weave your way through a patchwork of street vendors, pass by the Apollo Theater, and encounter musicians and domino players. Experience Harlem’s rich cultural history through a mosaic of motion as you arrive at the Harbor and encounter a world of possibilities.
