What does Berklee City Music mean to you and what are your goals at 5-week?
Berklee City Music means opportunity. An opportunity for me to show what I can do when it comes to music, an opportunity to improve my talent in being a vocalist, and an opportunity for my future in music. My goals at Berklee City Music are to learn about myself with music much more than what I know now and to come back as an actual student at Berklee College of Music.
What is it about music that makes you want to be a musician and pursue it as a career?
Music makes me want to be a musician and pursue it as a career because I want to make a living doing what I love which is singing, I can’t picture myself doing anything else. I want to prove to the world that you can be happy doing what you love if you give in your all.
Who’s had the greatest influence on your life and why?
My mother has the greatest influence on my life. My mom didn’t get a good education, didn’t live in the best place or with the best household but one thing, she always stood up for what she believed in and never gave up on me and my siblings. A beautiful, smart, wise, and caring mom of six children who isn’t musical in any way, gave me the strength to follow my dream and to not let anyone tell me I can’t because I can.
Outside of music what are your interests and hobbies?
Outside of music, I’m a lifeguard certified by the Red Cross, a Lynn Classical volleyball player and an artist in make-up and art. My style is realism and my work has been recognized in the Lynn Arts Museum in Lynn, MA and at Endicott College Art Show this year.
